My 706 NB works just fine. But I have a 2003 Ford e-150 cargo van with the
coil-over-plug ignition, so there's little noise to deal with anyhow. (it
worked fine on other vehicles too)

Of course, if you don't see "NB" at the far left of the SWR/Power scale, the
noise blanker is turned off...

Mine doesn't have a noise blanker. It just has a button that says
noise blanker. I use an AmCom clear speech speaker which solves the
problem.
