Default MFJ-9020/9040 S meter?

I have both an MFJ-9020 and 9040. Neither has an S-meter and I miss it.
Is there any way to add one? I was thinking of putting a meter on the
AGC voltage test point (TP-1).

TIA,

Geoff.
