Default antennatuner TS450SAT

Hello,

A good friend of mine own a Kenwood TS450SAT with probaly problem with the
tuner.
The tuner works OK on all bands with the carrier full open but on 80 the
tuner works ok till 3700 Khz but below that freq
for example 3699.99 , the tuner is trying to tune but the i don't hear the
tuner working.
Is this maybe a setting in the delay or not or another problem ?

Well,

I haven't tried to run a TS450 on 3.699 but at first guess
it may be that you are trying to run the rig outside the tuner's range?
Antenna too short?? Just a thought.

Hans,
It sounds like the relay contacts for the 40 meter relay may be welded
together. This is a common problem with Kenwood tuners. The failing relay is
usually one band up from the highest band that fails to tune. A smack on the
relay will sometimes free it. Otherwise it will need replacement. Could also
be a bad capacitor, but that is rare on the 450.
