			Hi Folks,

Can anyone help me by sending me a jpeg or similiar of the schematic page out of your Yaesu G-5500 controller box? I was given an antenna with the rotator attached, yet no controller box. Before I go out and buy a controller box from Yaesu, I thought I'd try my hand at building a controller box with provisions for computer control. I do have both sets of wires coming from each of the Az/El rotators, and I can see all of the colors clearly. If you can't send a jpeg, perhaps a pointer or two regarding what each wire color is connected to...? Is it really just 24 VAC, or do I have to worry about "split-phase" or things like that? Additionally, can anyone point me to a project that has been done like this? I found Bob Bruninga's Archer Rotator mod, which looks nice, but not knowing the required drive levels, I hesitate to just hook 24 VAC up the the wires on the controller. I found plenty of articles regarding the computer interface, but I just need to get things turning at this point. I'd appreciate a direct email, if possible. Thanks, |
