Silent Key Auction for Herb Petereit, W0AFY. If you knew Herb, you
knew that he was one of the "old timers". One of his first jobs after
moving to Omaha, Nebraska, in the 60's was building Galaxy 500's at
World Radio. He knew his gear inside and out, knew how everything
worked, and took a lot of pride in keeping everything running in top
shape. For many HAMS in the Omaha area in the 70's and 80's, Herb was
the guy to go to when you needed help

Herb passed away on Veteran's Day, November 11th, 2003, after a severe
bout of pneumonia. He was 71 years old. Herb is pictured here with his
high-school sweety and cherished wife of 47 years, Bonnie. All
procedes from these auctions will go directly to Bonnie.

This is a Heathkit Model HO-10 Monitor Scope, designed to allow the
operator to "see" transmitted and received signals as you hear them on
your receiver, or transmit them with your rig.

It easily connects between your exciter / transceiver and the antenna
allowing you to check your transmitted cw, am, or ssb waveforms to
ensure against key clicks, overmodulation, etc. You can also easily
connect it to your amplifier and watch the waveform to ensure you are
operating it linearly.

If your receiver has a 455kc IF, as many do, you can tap into it
(directions in the manual) and actually see the waveform of the signal
you are hearing in any mode. This is a great tool to help you operate
with quality audio, and let your friends know how their exciter is
performing. It even include a two-tone audio generator to help you
tune your amp!

Included is the original Heathkit manual.

This scope was confirmed to be in perfect working order at the time of
this auction. Added to the final auction selling price will be the
actual cost of shipping and shipping supplies. It weighs 10 pounds.
Dimensions are 5.5 " high x 7.5 " wide by 10.5 " deep. This product is
sold AS IS and all sales are final. Payment by PayPal preferred, but
certified checks or money orders will be accepted as well.
