I have found a few email talking about the Icom IC-40s (not the 40),
which can be 'reprogrammed' to have 99 channels.
Anybody has any details/pointers ?

Any official dealer should have the software. Unless you are licensed
for extra freqs, most will not program transmit freqs....just receive.
Like police UHF.

There is only 20 extra channels available in the Icom IC-40S.
