I haven't seen a "local CB shop" since about 1975. I must hang out in the wrong circles. I wasn't aware that anyone tried to make a living fixing CB's anymore. Tune to the lower part of the 10M band and you'll hear plenty of them advertising. There's one that is on rt. 295 in Virginia that can be heard all over the 6M band with their every-fifteen-minute advertising message which the broadcast on channel 19 with some sort of mistuned bandsplatter machine. I think most of these shops make their money from installation and modification work more than repair work, but there are quite a few around. Not like during the CB craze of the seventies at all, but check your local truckstop. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
