wrote: FA: fa: FA YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD BEFORE What makes you think he reads any of these replies? I would think it a reasonable compromise that auction postings be done in a consistent way, so that others can choose to read, or choose not to read them, using automated filters. If that doesn't work, the newsgroup policy might have to be changed to ban them completely. While the newsgroup might accept an occasional For Sale or For Auction posting from a private individual, the quantity from this poster would suggest a business enterprise. Several of us have tried to get him to stop changing his postings to
avoid our filters. The idea of the filters is so we dont have to see all the Ebay listings. On Sat, 21 Aug 2004 14:13:46 GMT, Gary S. One might wonder if someone so inconsiderate is a good choice to do business with. This is not a buy and sell newsgroup, and it's never been one. It's intended for discussion of amateur radio equipment. ONce again, the issue isn't auction ads, the issue is that people post ads here. Once Joe Blow decides to sell his rig here, and that happened a long time ago, then it gives permission to the idiots who post multiple ads to sell multiple things here. But note that it's only a matter of quantity, the individual selling things is just as off-topic here as the commercial posters. Michael VE2BVW |

I have asked many questions here on different radios on this newsgroup
over the years. Even some "HELP" questions, one about a week ago. I only received ONE answer in all that time! This is not a buy and sell newsgroup, and it's never been one. It's intended for discussion of amateur radio equipment. Michael VE2BVW |
