<> Icom 735 freq mod question

I recently purchased a used Icom-735. It appears that it has been
modified to transmit outside of the ham bands. I don't like this
feature and would like to disable it to only xmit while tuned inside
the ham bands.

Does anyone have any idea how this mod was performed so I can reverse
it.

Thanks
Chuck

The mod for gen/cov tx for the IC-735 involves removing D33 and D34 from the main board. You'll have
to lift the PA module up to do this, locate the diodes and simply snip one end of each. Very simple,
but it's amazing just how many screws need removing in the process!

Actually, he wants to reverse the process, so he'll have to come up
with a suitable replacement diode for D33 and D34, and successfully
solder them in the proper location.

Actually, he asked how the mod was performed.
If the modifier did it the easy way, s/he clipped one lead of the diodes and pulling them up from
the board. If that's the case, the process to reverse it will be a snap.

And, of course only the original poster would have any clue as to how
the mod was physically performed. None of us would know without
examining his radio.

Several years ago I bought one from a ham that makes them himself. Really
good quality, reasonable price and he engraves your callsign on the top of
the case. Does anybody know if he still does these and if so do you have
his contact info? Thanks for reading. - John
