Default [VE3WDM] The numbers are down.

As of the last week of April 2016, 40 meter is quite decent only running 6 watts out to a 32 foot vertical.
I use the Yeasu FT-817 -- nice QRP radio.

Going down to 1 watt using the $5.00 Pixie 40M CW transceiver is another story and requires short single hop propagation to make a QSO.
