FT-60R gone dead

My Yaesu FT-60R handheld has gone dead after it has been left plugged-in
the cigarette lighter in the car with the proper Yaesu adaptor. It was very
hot when i unplugged it.

The original battery pack still has full voltage in it and i also have an
accessory battery pack to fit in place of the original one, this also wont
power up the radio.

The terminals on the HT side are clean and well aligned. So since it was
very hot i am thinking there could have been a component or circuit
damaged ?...
