Default Future proofing? Use the FRG7!

No LCD displays or special purpose chips to become
unavailable in later years, just good old individual
L, C, R and semiconductor.

However, nobody expected the ubiquitous line output
valves used as a cheap TX PA to disappear from the market
and it may yet be the case that with the ever-increasing
commercial integration of circuitry that even discretes
will disappear. *****

"Stranger things have happened at sea", especially now
that the radio operator is no longer employed; a career
that many of us (not I) followed.

***** Radio Shack / Tandy went some time ago, and now here
in Brit Maplins has hit the buffers.
