First thing I would do is check to make sure there are serial numbers on
them. If there are, it might not be a bad idea to run them through your
local police department (the serial numbers).

As for recovering the money, that should be fairly simple. I would give you
a minimum of $200 for the pair in as is condition, and I'm sure there are
folks who would give more than that.
