Default Successor to Icom IC-706MkIIG?

Here is a scan of an article in a French amateur radio mag.:

ftp://ftp.yehudi.ca/ham-radio/ic-7000.pdf
(not my site, and it's often slow)

As I interpret the French text, the new rig is a little smaller than the
706, has a color screen, clock, voice recorder, larger backlit
pushbuttons, and 508 memories. IF DSP and PBT provide improved noise
blanking and eliminate the need for accessory filters. A microphone with
10 buttons is included as standard equipment. UHF output is now approx. 35W.

I have found no official announcement of this rig anywhere, but Icom
France is reported as saying that the IC-7000 will be available starting
in 2Q, 2005. No price is mentioned.

Perhaps it will be at Dayton.

It appears that they improved the menu function too.

It looks good. I hope it works as well as the 706.
