Default Icom F4s flashing display

hi guys,

I've got a bunch of Icom IC-F4s radios here, two of them, the channel display
flashes constantly, and it doesn't seem to transmit or receive.

Another one, when i key up, the red light comes on for a brief second and
goes off, and the display starts flashing. When I release tx, it stops
flashing.

Are the radios simply locked out, or are they faulty?

When the display flashes, only the name flashes. Any indicators like "LOW"
do not flash.

thanks!

Start by checking the radio parameters. If you don't have the cloning
or programming software you are SOL.

Don't think the S model has the keyboard...at least mine doesn't.
The full programming software is available on the web. Don't remember
where I got it tho.

Hi guys,

Ugh, my news server dropped all the other responses. Hurrah for google
groups!

The S model doesn't have the keyboard, but no matter, I made up a cable
and found the software on the net. The radios were apparently programmed
out of band. All good now, except for one radio which has really low
audio. Could be defective, although im hoping it's just a modulation
adjustment...

thanks guys!
