Question Kenwood TS-940S Receive

I have a Kenwood TS-940S/AT that I recently purchased from a friend who was the original owner. It performs beautifully!! I recently came upon a web posting on another forum site from a Brizillian amateur about a problem he found regarding several production wiring errors including the incorrect installation of a couple of FET's in the receive mixer and RF amplifier stages. He seemed to imply that this problem would exist in all of the 940's I don't believe that this is the case with mine, although I must confess that I haven't looked that closely. Has any one else heard of this problem, or found it in their radio and corrected it? My radio seems to work too well to have this problem.

There are a whole bunch of TS-940 service notes available online at
www.kenwood.net (click "Amateur Radio" and then "Service Bulletins").

I don't see the specific problem you describe being mentioned, but I
didn't look too deeply.

It's certainly possible that the production error existed in only one
batch of TS-940S receivers. Only way to tell for sure if it affects
your unit is to test it or open it up and look at the circuitry, I
suppose.
