Default Which 220?

Been out of Amateur for more than 20 years and would like to know when the
Kenwood TM-331A came out and how does it compare to the Alinco DR-235T, both
220 transceivers? I know the Alinco can be modified but there is no info on
the mod site re the Kenwood, not that it's important. Which one would you
buy and why? All comments & opinions very welcomed. Thank you.

I have the Alinco. Great radio, extended receive (some mil air),
accepts modem board for packet and APRS (GPS input on front face of
radio, RS-232 (DB-9) on rear, also accepts digital board for GMSK
digital audio communications with other GMSK compatible radios (ICOM
Alinco, etc.). Also, alpha tags are nice. I have the 135 for APRS
(N6XQY-12) and the 235 for the California CONDOR system (linked 220MHz
system covering most of CA, some of AZ, NV). Now looking at the dual
bander if I ever need to replace my Kenwood TM-V7A.

Enjoy es 73,
