Default Kenwood 732a

Hi All

I am having a problem with my Kenwood 732a....I stopped working and would
not power on, their was power going to the radio but it would not turn on.

I keep on trying to turn it on by repeating the on off button and now I have
a small number 44 showing in the left side of the display and when you push
any of the buttons all it does is beep, and now the on off button won't turn
the radio off.

Any Ideas Don VE3ULF

Does the 732 have a removable head? A couple years ago my 733 did
what you describe so I took off the removable head and cleaned the
contacts on the head and the rf deck then put it back and it worked
fine.

Yes it does have a removable head and that is how I have it hooked up via a
extension cable to the radio .

First get an electrician to check your shorts. :-\

Then clean the contacts on the jumper to the face, and then do a
microprocessor hard re-set.
