I noticed the Yaesu FT-840 has re-appeared on both HRO's web page as
well as Texas Tower's web page. HRO has it listed as "in stock". Has
this radio been brought back from discontinued status?

It isn't listed as a current product on the Yaesu web site, but the
archive reference is still the

My guess is that you're seeing a closeout.


Amateur Electronic Supply lists it as "Discontinued by Manufacturer"
but still available in limited quantities in stock.
