Explosion Blows Out Back of Marshall Co. House

Glen Dale man homeless, Friday, after explosion.

A Glen Dale man is homeless, tonight, after the back of his home exploded
just before five o'clock. It happened at 610 Glenhaven Avenue. Glendale
Police say the back of a home blew off after there was a gas accumulation
inside the bathroom. Firefighters say a fan burned up and overheated,
sparking the fire and blowing out the back side of the house. The owner
was found wandering around his back yard, covered in toilet paper, pantless,
and in a daze. The owner of the home, R.L. Wiseman, said that his toilet
had been stopped up for a couple of days and that he was unable to get any
plumbers to fix the problem. Wiseman said he'd had gas accumulations in
the past, but not quite to this extent. To make matters worse, Wiseman
said he did not have homeowners insurance so everything is a total loss.
Now the home is not stable and authorities have to determine what they're
going to do next. In the meantime, Wiseman is sleeping in his car.
