Default Radio suggestions

Hi Group !
Newbie here and I am in need of equipt reccomendations. I am moving to
a rural area of Texas near the mexico border and am in need of long
distance radio communications equip. Any and all suggestions
appreciated. Would prefer equipt that can scramble and also reach out.
Need to equip Base and 2-3 mobile units. Reccomended suppliers for
reliable repairable and versatile radio equip welcome,
