Default packet radio gear...

if i'm only interested in ax.25 packet radio, is there any advantage to
going with a multimode system over a simple TNC?

i was under the impression sound card was not capable of 9600 or 19.2.

furthermore i only have one sound out. :'-(

You might change your mind in the future. But every individual has to make
their own decisions based on their priorities and pocket book.
