Default PIC as "intelligent" voice processor/receiver ?

Hi group -

Given that the PIC series has gotten a LOT more powerful, has anyone
ever considered using one to do real time vocal processing of incoming
signals ? Something along the lines of reading three signals, the two
sidebands (if present) and the main carrier, processing in real time
and extrapolating the vocal data out of the heavily distorted/noisy
signal and presenting it at the output ?

This was inspired by reading up on data recovery from damaged hard
disks

Thanks for your assistance on this one ,

-Andre
