DXCC COUNTRY/ENTITY REPORT: According to the AR-Cluster Network for the
week of Sunday, 26th/October, through Sunday, 2nd/November there were 235

3B8, MAURITIUS (Also FR5). Jose, ON4LAC, is now active as 3B8/ON4LAC
until November 23rd. His activity has been mainly on 20/15 meters on
SSB and PSK, but is expected to be active on RTTY also. He will leave
3B8 and head to Reunion Island (FR5) to be active as FR5/ON4LAC during
the period of November 26th and December 15th. After this activity, Jose
will head back to Mauritius and will be active again between December
17th and 27th. QSL via his home callsign.

3B8 & 3B9, MAURITIUS AND RODRIGUES ISLAND. Operators Hans/PA0VHA and
Jack/PA3BAG are expected to be active this week as 3B8/homecall from
Mauritius (AF-049) November 3-9th and again between November 15-24th.
Activity should be on all bands (including the WARC bands) with Hans
operating on RTTY and Jack on SSB. Look for these operators to be active
from Rodrigues Island (AF-017) between November 10-14th as 3B9/homecall.
Please note that operators will be with their XYLs and are on vacation,
so radio activity will be limited. Most of their activity will be between

3B8, MAURITIUS. As you can see, this island will be very active during
the month of November. Look for Willy, ON5AX, to be active as 3B8/ON5AX
between November 6-15th. His activity will be on CS/SSB. QSL via ON5AX.

3DA0, SWAZILAND. Frosty, K5LBU, announced that he will be going here next
March and is looking for several operators to tag along. His plans include
a trip through the Kruger Game Park. If interested, contact him at:


6W, SENEGAL. Karel, ON5TN, will be active from Toubacouta as 6W/ON5TN
between November 7-18th. His activity is planned for 40-10 meters; main
mode CW and some SSB. QSL via his home callsign. His home page with an

9M6, EAST MALAYSIA. Bob, N2OO, (who was recently part of the BQ9P team)
is now active from Sabah as 9M6OO until about November 11th. He has been
active on all bands. However, he mentions that they are having a serious
line noise problem there which has caused him to concentrate on the bands
with the least amount of noise. He states, "Usually 28 and 24 MHz are very
clean so I have worked USA mostly there. Unfortunately, the noise peaks
to the north on 15 and 20 meters so those bands to USA are MOST difficult
and I have avoided them. I am able to work Europe on 14 MHz as I can turn
the beam slightly away from the line noise source. Low bands have been even
more difficult. I have experimented with a beverage with no luck at all.
So, will have to keep this itinerary until the noise is fixed. Prospect
of that happening soon are slim....... The best time to locate me on 24
and 28 MHz is around 2200-0100z. Peak seems to be around 2330z +/-." Bob

BOOK AVAILABLE ABOUT CY9!. Al, VE1AL, informs: "For those few who have
spent a few days on a DXpedition to St. Paul Is. (CY9) and know how ruggedly
beautiful it is there, and for those who would be interested in the island
from the perspective of someone who grew up there, I would suggest a new
book by Bill Budge, VE1AAO. Bill grew up on the island." Bill can be reached

DXCC NEWS (Clarification). Last week's bulletin reported that Wolfgang,
OE1WEU, informed OPDX and readers that YI9OM QSLs are being rejected (Reason
indicated: No Documentation Received). This past week "The Daily DX"
reported that Wayne, N7NG, at the DXCC Desk states, "QSL cards for YI9OM
are good for DXCC through November 30, 2002. QSOs after that date were
not made from by the original licensee and therefore do not count for
DXCC." ADDED NOTE: Bernie and "The Daily DX" also report that QSL cards
for 7Z1SJ and HZ1MD currently do not count for DXCC as the DXCC Desk is
waiting for documentation. Also, David Chen, BA4RF, informs OPDX that
his YA/DL5NAV and OJ0/OE1ZKC QSLs were rejected. Reason indicated: No
Documentation Received.

EA8, CANARY ISLANDS. Operators Erwin/DL1DX, Heinz/DJ1OJ and Sigi/DL6QW
will be active as EA8AX during the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November
29-30th). Their operating class is not yet determined. QSL via the bureau.

ET, ETHIOPIA. Peter, ET3BN, has been active on 20/15/12/10 meters CW
over the past week and weekend. Activity seems to take place between
1100-1630z. QSL via DL1JRC.

FR/E, EUROPA (Update and Changes). It seems the dates on the upcoming
operations to Europa have been changed, but for the better. The team of
five to eight operators will be active a little longer than previously
announced. The team will be on Europa between November 24th through
December 15th. They will use a French navy ship to get to Europa and
also return. On the return trip they will head to Reunion Island. The
callsigns they requested are TO4E for the main operation and TO4WW for
the CQWW CW Contest. They plan to have 3 stations on the air. Donations
can be sent via F5OGL.

FS, FRENCH ST. MARTIN. Ann/W2AZK and Brian/KF2HC return to French St.
Martin with Gene/K2KJI, Mary Ann/K2RVH, Captain Bob/W5GJ and Mike/WA2VUN
from December 3-10th. The group plans to have 2 stations on 160-6 meters
CW/SSB/PSK31. They hope to add to their operation satellite activity and
a 6m beacon prior to departure from the island. Captain Bob and Brian
will participate in the ARRL 160m Contest that weekend using the callsign
FS/W2JJ. All other times operators will sign FS/homecall. QSL to the
callsign worked direct or via the bureau. QSOs with Ann and Brian are
good towards the North Jersey DX Association's "NJDXA Award". See the

FT1Z, AMSTERDAM ISLAND. Jean-Louis, F6AGR, from AMSAT-France, reports that
Sebastien, who got his ham license October 31st, will be active for one
year (2004) on AO-40 (and LEOs) from Amsterdam Island (FT1Z, Grid Locator
MF81TX). He also plans to be active on 50 MHz, and on HF as soon as the
French laws permit (he has a no-code license). AMSAT-France is actively
preparing his SAT hardware (dish, 2.4 GHz converter, yagi, etc which have
to be as light as possible), providing training and will handle QSL cards.

IOTA NEWS..................
AS-008. Operators 7N1NAI and JQ1QFO were expected to be active as
homecall/1 from Mikura Island this past weekend. QSL to their
home callsigns via the bureau or direct.

EU-123. Weather permitting, Peter, GM3OFT/P, was expected to operate
SSB from the Isles of Fleet (SF-03 for IOSA) between 1200z
on November 1st until about 1500z on November 2nd.

J3, GRENADA. Ann, WA1S, will be active as J38AA (expected license renewal)
in the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as a Single-Op/All
Band/Low Power entry. Ann informs OPDX that she will arrive late November
20th and stay until December 1st. Activity outside of the contest will
be on 160-10 meters but will primarily concentrate on the WARC bands. The
mode will mainly be CW, but she will do some SSB. QSL via her home callsign
WA1S.

KH2, GUAM. Setsu/JL1UXH/KK2H and his XYL Maki/7L4FSR will be on the air
from November 12-16th as KK2H/KH2. He states, "Not a rare entity though
we will focus on EU and USA east coast." Activity will be on all HF bands
CW/SSB. Setsu states, "Sorry, no RTTY/SSTV this time. This is rather a
DX Vacation, not a DXpedition HI..." An online log will be available
during the operation and will update on daily bases at: http://kk2h.4th.jp
QSL via JL1UXH via bureau or direct. Please do not send anything to the
U.S. address of KK2H.

LX, LUXEMBOURG. Operators Philippe/LX2AJ, Jorgen/DL4SDW, Uwe/DL4SDX,
DL5SEJ and Bernd/DL8SCG will be active as LX7I in the CQ World Wide DX CW
Contest (November 29-30th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via LX2AJ (Bureau).

OH0, ALAND ISLAND. Ari, OH5DX (ex-OH1EH), will be active as OH0Z in the
ARRL 160 Meter Contest. Operating class is not yet determined. QSL via
OH5DX.

OOOPPPSSS DEPARTMENT!!! In OPDX.632 under "NCDXA 2004 OFFICERS", OPDX
received and reported the wrong callsign for Terry Hines. His callsign
should be N4ZH (NOT N2ZH as reported).

Leon, K2EWB, reports that he is no longer the QSL Manager for AP2JZB.
All current requests have been answered. New requests should go to the

It was announced this past week that the BQ9P logs are now available

Also, QSL Manager Steve, KU9C, has sent out the following press release:
"Now that it's noted that the log search for BQ9P 2003 is up and
running, let me remind/share with you what will help to get your
QSL back more quickly:
-if you notice a difference between your log and the log on line,
NOTE IT IN WRITING and send with your QSL request. Please avoid
sending me or the team members an email, it's much more orderly
and efficient to deal with this in the process of checking the
logs against QSL cards received.

-send to me ONLY your request for BQ9P 2003. If you add other
years of BQ9P in, or other calls I manage, it will slow your
return SUBSTANTIALLY. It amazes me how many folks will try to
stuff as many calls in as they can for me, and then wonder why
their return takes a long time. Rule of thumb, at least 2 months
per call beyond the first one....just the facts of life. Sometimes
longer, sometimes sooner, depends on the call, how quickly I
research that log, and a host of other items."

Steve will send out a press release when the cards start going out. He
states, "I've got the log....I'll be able to predict mailing once the
QSL card is put to bed.. If you care to donate to this operation, I will
forward donations received with the QSL cards to the team. As a note of
interest, the costs of this DXpedition were budgeted at approximately
8000 USD, and this does not include the cost of the operators getting
to Taiwan. The costs overran somewhat, due to the typhoon, and a need
to juggle aircraft to get to the island. All but about 1200 USD of this
amount was funded by the operating team........ Thanks es 73 Steve KU9C"

QSL HC1HC (operator Alfredo) was active in last week's CQWW SSB Contest
via NE8Z.

Paul, W8AEF, reports that the following logs have been uploaded to
the LookBook of The World (LoTW): XZ0A (2000), XZ1N (1998), TU5A (1996)
and FO8DX (1997).

USI NEWS. Look for members of the Sandusky Radio Club, W8LBZ, to be active
November 7-9th from Kelley's Island (USI OH-001L) located in Lake Erie,
Erie county, Ohio. Activity will be on 40 and 20 meters, mostly SSB, using
the club callsign. QSL via the bureau for DX stations or direct (with SASE)
to: Sandusky Radio Experimental League, Inc., 2909 West Perkins Ave.,
Sandusky, Ohio 44870, USA.

V26, ANTIGUA. Paul/WY7I and Steve/K7LXC will be active as V26DX during the
CQWW CW DX Contest as a Multi-Single entry. They will be there between
November 28th and December 1st. They will be operating on all bands CW.

V31, BELIZE. Rumen, LZ1MS, informs OPDX that he has been active as V31LZ
since mid August this year. He is a visiting Professor during this academic
year (August 2003-April 2004) at the newly established Galen University
in San Ignacio, Cayo district. He is using TS-870S (100w) and a trap
vertical antenna 14 AVQ Hy-Gain on 40/20/15/10 meters. Rumen is active
mainly on CW but there is some activity on SSB as well. He prefers the
DX frequencies +/- QRM, the only exception is the 40m band where he
prefers the lower end of the band. QSL via his son, Vasco Gechev, LZ3RZ:

VK9C, COCOS-KEELING ISLAND. Hisashi/JA1KJW and Kunio/JA8VE will be active
as VK9CJ and VK9CV, respectively, between November 27th and December 7th.
Activity will be on 160-10 meters CW/SSB/RTTY. Look for them to also be
active in the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 29-30th) as VK9CJ.

VK9X, CHRISTMAS ISLAND. Charlie, W0YG, is now active as VK9XG unitl
November 8th. As mentioned in earlier bulletins, Charlie's main priorities
will be the low bands on CW (particularly 160/80 meters) plus some digital
modes activity on the HF bands. For 80 meters, watch around 3506 kHz
starting about 1045z and again at 2130z. Watch 20/15 meters for CW and
RTTY activity at other times. Bernd, DF3CB, is reportedly providing online
logs and will be uploading them regularly to the VK9XG Web site at:

ZK3, TOKELAU. Silvano, I2YSB, informs OPDX that he, Flaviano/I2MOV, Carlo/
IK1AOD and Marcello/IK2DIA will be active from here beginning February 13th
and ending February 25th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters CW/SSB and
possibly RTTY. The team is looking for your input on your needs and wants
