Default AARL website vs. goal of spreading knowledge

Not to be impolite, but browsing http://www.arrl.org/, I find one
can't get very far without being a paying member.

If their goals are spread knowledge, especially to lesser developed
parts of the world, then I think the approach of http://www.fsf.org/
would be more efficient.

ARRL= Its all about money and their power to help themselves.
Has been, will be, and will always be. Been a ham (General) almost 50 years
and they have never changed.
I will NEVER join them people.
To bad to, they could really do some good. Ok I'll admit they have done a
little good but have been overshadowed by ALL the stuff they have screwed up
for us.
