![]() I forgot, what happens when a cab or truck with a strong CB ends up broadcasting throughout my house even though there is no juice in any of my audio systems? Supposing (theoretically, don't try at home, prolly illegal) someone wanted to replicate this. How? |

Take a normal CB with mag mount antenna and power supply... put the mag mount on or near your stereo. Transmit and listen. __ Steve KI5YG .. |

The strong RF signal is being picked up by the speaker wires which act like
antennas. The coupled signal is then rectified by the some unintentional artifact of the design and the resulting current flow causes the speakers to move creating audio. To cure the problem purchase a .01 uF ceramic cap and place it accross your speaker terminals, and/or shorten your speaker leads, or use sheilded wire for them. You can also try using ferrites on the speaker lines but these don't generally work as well and they are expensive. 73, Len WT6G wrote in message ...
