Jake,
I obviously don't know everything, but I didn't just fall off a turnip truck either!!! Mike and Incognito, Thanks for the info. Tom "Jake" wrote in message ... "Tom H." wrote in message ... Hello, From the nature of the question you can probably guess that I am new to ham radio. What is a "call channel"? The instruction manual for my 2M/70cm portable transceiver mentions being able to set up a call channel, but it does not define what that is. Can someone tell me what it is and what it is good for? TIA, Tom KD7ZJV The "Call Channel" enables you to file a rapid direct report to the FCC on any other ham who is bothering your or breaking FCC rules. Generally speaking, no set up is required, but if you live over 1000 mile from a FCC office, then you might need to set it up. Operating the Call Channel is simple, just press "call" on most righs, and the report is on its way. Hope this helped some. 73, Jake |
