* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
First Worry Later" (WFWL).

5H2, TANAZANIA (Attention Prefix Hunters). Operators Javi/EA5KM and
Toni/EA5RM will be working on a "Radioamateurs Without Frontiers"
(Radioaficionados Sin Fronteras) NGO's (Non-Government Organization)
project, in Tanzania between October 22-31st. The announcement states,
"Please do not expect a lot of activity on the bands during the first
days, probably any, because they will be working on the installation of
two HF stations solar powered to a couple of medical dispensaries located
in a remote part of northern Tanzania." Activity will be during their free
time on 80 meters CW, and 40-10 meters CW, SSB, and digital using the
callsign 5H2AG. Also, they plan to take part in the CQWW SSB Contest.
Since the prefix 5H2 has not been used too much on the air, it will be
of interest for prefix hunters. A online log will be available on their

Contributions received with the QSL will be donated to the RWF NGO.

6W, SENEGAL. Look for members of the "Union Francaise des Telegraphistes",
Benoit, F8PDR, to be active from South Senegal as 6W7/homecall or possibly
a 6W7xx callsign between October 10-19th. Activity will be on 80-10
meters, with an emphasis on 80/40/30 meters and mainly on CW. QSL via
the French REF Bureau or direct (SAE + 1 IRC or 2 USD) to:

7P, LESOTHO. Jun, JH4RHF/OE1ZKC, will be active from here until October
2nd. He should be on the air by the time you read this as 7P8/JH4RHF and
not 7P8RH as first reported (See OPDX.725). This will be a one man effort,
and he hopes to be active as much as possible. Activity will be on 160-10
meters, SSB, CW and RTTY (probably more CW/RTTY than SSB); SSTV on
request(?). Jun may stay on the low bands longer due to the propagation.

9M2, WEST MALAYSIA. Champ, E21EIC, will be active as 9M2/E21EIC for the
CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th). His operating class is currently
undetermined. QSL via E21EIC.

A5, BHUTAN. The same Clipperton DX Club team that activated A52FH in 2000
and A52CDX in 2004, will once again return to Bhutan from November 18th
to December 3rd. Operators mentioned a Gerard/F2VX, Jean-Louis/F9DK,
Vincent/G0LMX and Alain/F5LMJ. They will be at the Ham center in Thimphu
from November 18-29th, and then try to be active from Bunthang and Paro
Valley. This is not a DXpedition but a "ham radio project" to promote the
growth of amateur radio in Bhutan. To continue their project with the
Bhutan Telcom Authority, they will donate one or two radios that would
be used to create new radio clubs in eastern Bhutan. The QSL info will
be the same as the 2004 operation, via F9DK. QSL direct or by the bureau
is "OK".

AO7, SPAIN (Special Event). John Flynn, EA7EUF, Secretary URE Huelva,
informs OPDX that members of the local section of URE in Huelva have
organized a special event. They will activate the special callsign AO7URE
during an all day event from Doñana National Park, Huelva, Spain, to
commemorate the birth, for the first-time in captivity, of 3 Lynx kittens
and also as part of the “II Diploma Especies de Doñana” in support of the
Iberian LYNX, a feline in danger of extinction. Operations will start at
0700z on October 2nd. Activity will be on 80/40/20/15/10 meters using SSB
only. A special QSL card will be issued for 1 confirmed contact via the
bureau or direct to URE Huelva, P.O.Box 259, 21080-Huelva, Spain, with
1 IRC (Europe) or 2 IRC (Non-Europe). More information about the Diploma

CK6, CANADA. Mike, VE6AO, can sometimes be found on 20 meters SSB signing
with the special callsign CK6AO to celebrate Alberta's 100th anniversary.
QSL via VE6AO.

FY, FRENCH GUIANA. Operators F5MZN, F6FGZ, F5HRY, F1HAR, FY5FY, F5LND
and I4UFH will be active as FY5KE during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (October
29-30th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via FY5KE.

IOTA NEWS...................
AF-NEW. (UPDATE) Just a reminder to look for a group of SU and I
operators who are expected to be on the air from Giftun Island
this week. The operators mentioned a SU1ER, SU1KM, SU1KA,
IZ8BQE, IK6CAC, IZ8CCW, I8LWL and IK8VRH. The callsign to be
used from this new IOTA will be SU8GFTN (not SU8GFT as previously
announced). QSL SU8GFTN via IZ8CCW. Their Web site for this

AS-046. Enno, 9V1CW (PF5X), will be active as 9M2/PF5X from Sibu Island,
October 8-10th. His activity will be holiday style, mainly
during his local evening hours. QSL via PA0KHS.

AS-058. Enno, 9V1CW (PF5X), will be active as 9M2/PF5X from Langkawi
Island, October 29th through November 5th. His activity will
be holiday style, mainly during his local evening hours. QSL
via PA0KHS.

EU-083. Operators Vanni/IK4RUX, Frank/IK4GLV and Sergio/IK4JPR are/were
expected to activate Tinetto Island (Italian Island Award IIA
SP-003) this past weekend. Activity will be on 40-10 meters CW
and SSB. QSL via their home callsigns, direct or by the bureau.

EU-093. Just to reminder, look for members of the Costa Blanca Cultural
ARC to be active from Tabarca Island (WLOTA: LH-1779 [Most
Wanted] and ARLHS: SPA-136), October 1-2nd. The callsigns to
be used a ED5TII (Tabaeca Island) and ED5TIF (Tabarca
lighthouse). QSL via EA5FHK.

OC-NEW. Operators Nando/IT9YRE (T32Y), Claudio/I1SNW (T32SNW) and
Alfio/IT9EJW (T32EJW) will be active from Flint Island (a new
IOTA) between September 28th and October 15th. If they are
unable to land on Flint Island, they will move on to Vostok
Island in the same island group. They will actiavte a second
new IOTA named Caroline Island (aka Millennium Island). Activity
will be on all bands and modes. QSL all three calls via IT9YRE
(QRZ.com).

OC-119. Wayne, K9YNF, will be active as K9YNF/KH6 from Kauai Island
(USI HI-003S, Kauai County, Hawaii) between now and October 1st.
Look for him on SSB on the usual IOTA frequencies on 20/17/12/10
meters. QSL via K9YNF, direct with SASE or SAE with large IRCs.

IR8, ITALY. The "Strange Radio Team" will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB
Contest (October 29-30th) as IR8C as a Multi/Single entry. The operators
mentioned a IK8WCQ, IK8WEJ, IK8YTG, IW8EQS, IZ0BTV, IZ7DOK, IZ8EDJ,
IZ8EQF and IZ8EZP. QSL via IZ8EDJ. The "Strange Radio Team's" Web is at:

KP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS. John, K3MD, will be active as KP2/K3MD during the
CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power
entry. QSL via K3MD. John will be a portable operation from the north shore
of St. John's for a few days before the contest using wire a vertical and
500W. Activity will be on 80-10 meters.

KH7, KURE ISLAND. After being behind schedule in getting on the air due
to the challenges of unloading equipment because of heavy seas, the K7C
team is on the air! However, they are having difficulties with their ISP
over the operation of the DXA Web page. The K7C Web page on Sunday, states:
"We have slimmed down DXA to focus only on the logging functions due to
excessive server loads. After talking a few hours to sleep and catch
their breath this morning, K7C will be back on the air around 2000-2100z.
We will be adding the lost QSOs to the DXA log. PLEASE REST ASSURED that
if your contact was confirmed by a K7C operator over the air, and it
currently doesn't show up on DXA, it is in the log and it will appear
on DXA in the near future after we have resolved these issues. Thanks
so much for all the wonderful emails of support we have been receiving."

As this was being written, it seems K7C has been active on 30/17 meters CW
and 20 meters CW/SSB. From their Web site, the following are a selected set
of primary operating frequencies. They are selected to avoid conflict with
other possible operations and to be on or near the standard frequencies
used by major DXpeditions. The following is indicative of these
frequencies, but is only provisional. THIS LIST IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. They
will make every effort to avoid interfering with emergency communications
related to the hurricane disaster on the gulf coast. Please work with them
to adapt to the location conditions, and advise them if they are in conflict
with emergency service communications.
CW - 1826.5, 3522, 7022, 10106, 14022, 18072, 21022, 24892 and 28022 kHz
SSB - 3795, 7095, 14195, 18145, 21295, 24945 and 28475 kHz
RTTY - 7035, 10135, 18105, 21085 and 28085 kHz
6 Meter - 50106 kHz CW/SSB

LIGHTHOUSE ACTIVITY. Operators John/GM6LYJ and Andy/GM4JR will activate
Southerness Lighthouse during three weekends in October. John has given
an advance notification of an intent to use the 80/40 meter bands on
October 23rd. They have obtained the callsign GB4SLH for this activity
event. The WAB square will be NX95. They intend to try and opperate during
the weekend before the 23rd, and the weekend after, giving 3 weekends in
the total work this lighthouse. Operations are also expected to be on all
HF bands from 160-10 meters (except 30m) and on 2m and 70cm. QSL Manager
was not mentioned.

QSL INFO AND NEWS........................
OPDX has been informed that Joseph, ex-(4K6GF, UD6GF, UD6DLJ, 4K500GF,
4K70GF and 4KA6GF) has now moved (with his family) to Russia. His new
callsign is RD4HF, and his mail address is now: Joseph S. Raihshtain,
P.O.Box 12466, Samara 443084, Russia. He still has all the logs and
blank QSLs for all his previous callsigns.

QSL 7L3ATQ/1 via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau. Activity
was from Shikine Island (IOTA AS-008 and JIIA AS-008-011), JA1 North
Izu.

QSL OD5NJ via direct, or EA5BYP or I1HJT. Activity was during this
past weekend's CQ Worldwide DX, RTTY Contest.

QSL SF50A via W3HNK. This special callsign was activated during the
SAC SSB Contest this past weekend from IOTA EU-037.

INTERESTING LOTW NOTE (Update). In last week's OPDX.727, we mentioned
that Brian, K3KO, recently downloaded a file containing all callsigns
listed in the "Logbook of The World" (LOTW), and ran it through WIN-EQF
to find out the number of countries that were available and missing in
the LoTW. He reported that there were 273 countries presently within
the LoTW. Since then, OPDX readers have provided updates to this list
and the count now is 281. The following countries are not available:
1A, 3CO, 3D2/C, 3XA, 3Y/B, 3Y/P, 4U1UN, 5A, 5N, 7O, 7P, 7X, 9J, 9Q,
9U, C31, C9, E3, EK, EP, EZ, FO/M, FR/G, HK0/MALPELLO, HV, J5, KH5,

SV9, CRETE. Stephan, DK3TNA, will be active as SV9/DK3TNA from September
30th to October 12th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters SSB. QSL via his
home callsign, by the bureau (preferred) or direct (QRZ.com).

TO5 & TX5, REUNION ISLAND AND MAYOTTE (Update to OPDX.726). Serge, F6AML,
is scheduled to be active as TO5R from Reunion Island, September 27th
through October 23rd. During his short trip to Mayotte, from October
10-14th, he will be active as TX5M. Activity will be on 40-10 meters
CW/SSB. See OPDX.726 for suggested frequencies. QSL both operations via
F6AML, either direct or via the French REF-Bureau.

TO5, GUADELOUPE (IOTA Op). Operators Jacques/F1BCS, Jean-Marc/F1HDI,
Gilles/F5JBE, Patrick/F6CMH, Olivier/F6EIE, Daniel/F6EPD, Irenee/F6GAL
and Yves/F6JMV will be active as TO5S from Les Saintes Island (NA-114),
November 2-10th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters, CW, SSB, SSTV and

TZ, MALI. Ned, AA7A, plans to be active on 6 meters as part of the TZ5A
VooDoo Contest Group CQWW DX CW Contest operations between November
25-29th. He will use the TZ5A callsign on 6 meters. QSL via G3SXW, direct
