Default This idea of testing a trap

Any others got a thought on this , i have no test gear at all and
before i start i was wondering wether it was worth starting at all , but
if i make a LC parallel resonant trap for say the 40m band , if i
soldered a small 50hm dummy load on one side and then fed the trap on
the other through a vswr meter with very small power could the the trap
point be measured or would the loading of the dummy load pull the
resonance off as i aware there be thousand ohms or so imp there , to
save a waste of time no suggestions to make a coaxial trap i not
interested ...cheers paul...
