I drive a 1988 dodge dakota which has an electronic control module to
control timing and fuel delivery.I've installed a 10/12m ranger 2970 radio in it.I've also modified the radio somewhat by installing a modulation/speech processor/compressor.My modulation is presently at 95%.When I key the mic. the ECM becomes flooded with RF and disturbs the control to the fuel delivery and timing to the point of stalling the the truck.I've tried to RF harden the ECM by wrapping it in tin foil.I'e also added a DC ground that runs from the radio to ground and to the antenna then back to the truck ground.Still the problem exists.Any suggestions short of removing the speech/mod compressor will be greatly appreciated. 73s...K2NBO.... |
