Default Frequency synthesizer for Ocean Boy 400

Would anyone happen to know what frequency synthesizer and PLL IC the Grundig Ocean boy 400 uses?

I want to change the tuning step on SW to 1 kHz as the 5kHz step is a bit coarse.

If only it was that easy! The stepping rate is dictated by the reference frequency and N divider. The latter is dictated by the internal structure of the processor.
