Can anyone point me please to any solid state HF RF drivers that would be handy for driving this tube? Possibly with digital readout. I don't have recent radio handbooks. Thanks. Oh, I am thinking CW. Not an SSB RF exciter. Hi, one now already somewhat "museum age" design was once described in VHF Communication magazine 1/1982, A Wideband driver for the Shortwave bands, if available... Still useful and solid desing. There could be other equal designs somewhere with modern wideband op-amps etc. but this would give HF range gain of 44dB and is linear, not in C-class but can set to run in class C... It will also drive tube amplifiers nicely with 1:4 step-up transformer at tube grid... This is not really a kit, but could give some new views to your needs. br K Hi. I've just got the RSGB handbook from 1973. Possibly a little old in the tooth. I could do with the latest RSGB edition, ARRL handbook, or some sort of cook-book. Probably. :c) There are probably some wideband designs or otherwise on the WWW. Just a matter of finding them. Maybe I should spend some money on a new book. :c) |
