If you're really interested in getting it right, it should have been:
Oh, by the way...you're trying to teach your granny to suck eggs son. "You're" is a contraction for "you are". "Your" is an adjective, meaning "of or relating to you or yourself". And a comma would have been appropriate between "eggs" and "son", making it better yet if it had read: Oh, by the way...you're trying to teach your granny to suck eggs, son.
