Well plcc sockets are sorta like that. For dips you'd have to use
a pc breadboard adaptor.

There is also the QIL or Quad-in-line format, where altenate pins are offset
into second rows. You would have to find a DIL to QIL adaptor/socket.

I guess it all depends on WHY you need wider pin spacings.
