Default NPO cap markings?

A while back I got the NORCAL capacitor kit. Very useful. But I've
forgotten how the NPO caps are marked. Does the black mark at the
top indicate NPO?
Thanks, 73 Bill N2CQR M0HBR

It sounds like you just need to know for this one kit, but the designation
"C0G" also indicates a zero temperature coefficient, it's just a different
nomenclature than used with NP0.

COG is the modern designation. It replaced NPO about 15-20 years ago.

I have no idea why.
