Well, when your competition is Renault and Fiat, you can afford to be
sloppy!


It's tragic, really. With very few exceptions, the actual mechanical
engineering on British cars is typically of a very high standard. The
overall product, however, is let down by Lucas electrics (where used)
and not terribly good rust-prevention treatment (which is
unforgiveable in a climate like ours).
