Yup, John Chrighton's another one that springs to mind as being very good at sniffing stuff out on the Web. I'd often wondered what these "pads" were for. I'd been a bit concerned to note that the output amplitude varied quite markedly when sweeping the generator through it's frequency range when measuring the 'open circuit' voltage with a 'scope.
