when trying to demodulate a radio wave with am can you after a

An earphone would work better. There are crystal radio designs both with and without the capacitor. Those with the capacitor give more volume. Those without are more selective. If you're not talking about a crystal radio, the reason for the capacitor is to filter out the RF which can be stronger than the audio and overload the amplifier. -- Jim Mueller To get my real email address, replace wrongname with dadoheadman.
