Now why would I want to go with a completely unknown and unproven (to me, at least) firm, one that can't even spell parts of their advertisement right, when I can pay just a bit more and get local service from a US-based company that I know won't have any trouble turning the boards I need around? I don't know where you're going to pay "just a bit more" and get anywhere near as much as these folks are promising. As far as US-based companies are concerned, I've been using PCB Express (www.pcbexpress.com). Their deal for a similar basket of features is about $150 for 100 sq in. Being a US company doesn't seem to have made them any better either...the last time I used them, I got 3 defective boards out of a lot of 10. These guys want $65 for a 155 sq in panel. The next closest deal I know of is Olimex, a European company (www.olimex.com), and they want $105 for a 100 sq in panel. Thats a price difference of 2.5 to 1. I don't care how good they can spell, as long as their quality and delivery are reliable and good. Personally, for $65, I'm going to give it a try on the next prototype board I send out for fab. I'll let you know how it works out. Joe W3JDR |
