Default Low noise -- op amps

John W. suggested an AD797 as a standard of comparison for voltage
noise, which is fine, but for lowest noise figure, you need to know the
source impedance that will be driving the circuit, and you need to be
careful about part values in the rest of the circuit as well. Suggest
you have a look at some other amps...there are so many good ones
available these days. Since you mentioned two quad op amps, I assume
you want to use a quad, and not singles like the AD797. TLC074 might
be a better choice than either of your suggestions. There are other
factors you may not have considered. The TLC274 has very limited slew
rate for audio applications, and can only put out a bit over a volt p-p
at 3kHz, for example. Is distortion an issue? If so, you at least
should pick an amp with adequate slew rate.

If you'd like to optimize the choice of amplifier a bit better, and can
pick from a wider range than just the two you mentioned, perhaps you
could tell us more about the application and what other constraints
there may be.

Cheers,
Tom
