Alinco radio coax connector

Alinco radio coax connector

My Dr 590 has two connectors one for vhf one for uhf. WHile hooking an
antenna up the connector actually came out of the vhf. I looked but
could not see any wires in there. I put it back in and at least
according to my swr it was putting out wattage.

How do these things go on and do I need to do something different? DOes
it need to be soldered?
