Looks like you're doing some interesting things with these DSPics. I'm
curious to know if you've had a chance to use some of the Microchip
tools (e.g. their digital filter package) and what your impressions are.

OTOH, if you're using something else - what can you recommend?

Haven't tried it yet, I just used some dsPIC code written by someone else
for the bigger 'F6014 on the dsPICDEM 1.1 development board. I'll be
creating my own filter coefficients and will try the Microchip software.
I've used Scilab in the past for FIR filter design, and a few other
programs.

One problem with the 'F4013 is that any software using the codec interface
works OK under the ICD 2 in-circuit debugger, but not when actually
programmed into the chip. I'm waiting for a response from Microchip about
it.
