3B8, MAURITIUS. Mart, DL6UAA, will once again be active as 3B8MM
starting April 5th and staying possibly for a few weeks. Activity will
be mainly CW on all HF bands with some SSB and SSTV. QSL via his home

3DA, SWAZILAND (Reminder). Operators Filip/ON4AEO, Kath/ON7BK, Danie/
ZS6VWD and Elize/ZS6EMH will be active as 3DA0FC from April 5-9th.
Activity will be on 80-10 meters including the WARC bands. QSL via

5Z, KENYA. Alex, IK4ALM, will be active as 5Z4/IK4ALM between now and
April 10th. This will be a holiday style operation with only 100 watts
and a ground plane on SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

60M ACTIVITY (Between Saturday, March 31st and Sunday, April 1st). The
following were heard: G0HNW, G3ZGP, G4YSG, GD3YUM, IK4WTU, MU0FAL and
YN2N.

7P, LESOTHO (Update). Shaun, ZS1RA, informs OPDX that due to unforseen
circumstances, the team had some withdrawals. Operators ZS1ROY and
ZS1ZL will no longer be able to participate. Shuan states, "This has
put some undue financial pressure on the 7P8DX team, and we are short
of some 500 Euros or approx. 700 USDs. All donations would be greatly
appreciated." The current list of operators are now Shaun/ZS1RA, Barry/
ZS1FJ and Tony/ZS1APB. Listen out for them between April 5-12th. They
will be operating from the highest point in Lesotho (3000m ASL) on the
north border escarpment of the Drakensburg Range. The team has
requested the callsign 7P8DX. Activity is planned for 80-15 meters with
an emphasis on the lower bands.

AO1, SPAIN. Operators Roberto/EA2RY and Juanjo/EB1ISN will be active
as AO1A during the EA RTTY 2007 Contest (April 7-8th) as a Multi-Op
entry. Activity will be from the Palencia Province in Spain.

C6, BAHAMAS. Eric, K9GY, will once again be active as C6AYM from
Nassau, New Providence Island (Grid FL15) during the CQ WW WPX CW
Contest (May 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. Outside
the contest he will also be on 6m and 2m. QSL via K9GY, direct or by
the Bureau.

CN, MOROCCO. Members of the Dar Bouazza Contest Group (DBCG), will
activate their ARRAM club station (CN8MC) in Rabat, during the CQ WW
WPX CW Contest (May 26-27th) as CN5W and as a Multi/Single entry.
Operators mentioned a Nico/SV3SJ and Patrick/F6IRF. QSL via the

UPDATE. Bob, W7YAQ (E51PDX/E51YAQ), informs OPDX of the following:
"The accreditation documents for the November 2006 E51 North/South
Cooks operation of N7OU and W7YAQ have been resubmitted to the ARRL
DXCC Desk. The original packet sent in January got lost somewhere
between Oregon and Connecticut. Please accept our apologies for the
inconvenience and thanks for your patience."

CHANGES. Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Branch Manager, reports the
following changes in DXCC, WAS and VUCC Card Checking Program rules.
"Effective immediately, DXCC announces the following changes to the
DXCC Card Checking program:

The 10-year rule is now removed. Card checkers can now check cards
'for current entities only', dating back to November 15, 1945. Card
checkers still cannot verify 160 meter cards or deleted entities.

In addition, DXCC card checkers can also check applications, if they
agree to do so, for:
The Worked All States Award (WAS) (See www.arrl.org/awards/was); and
The VHF/UHF Century Club Award (VUCC) (See www.arrl.org/awards/vucc)

HOLIDAY OPERATIONS. Drew, GM3YOR, informs OPDX that he has made plans
for some holiday operations for this year. Look for him to be active
as GM3YOR/P from Isle of Islay (EU-008), Inner Hebrides, Scotland,
between May 19-26th. Also, look for him to be active as SV5/GM3YOR
from the Isle of Symi (EU-001), Dodecanese Islands, between September
15-30th. He will be taking his TS50 and wire antennas, and will operate
when time is available.

IOTA NEWS.........................
EU-048. Francois, F5JNE, will stay at his son's home for about two
weeks, starting April 30th, on Belle Ile en Mer Island.
Activity will be during his evenings on the HF bands, mainly
CW. During this stay he has scheduled to visit some of the
other islands in the Bretagne (Morbihan) Region Group with
Max, F5IRH (tide, wind and sea permitting):
May 1st - Les Grands Cardinaux Island
May 5th - Ile aux Chevaux (Horses Island)
They will sign as homecall/p on 80/40 meters (and possibly
on some other bands), CW and SSB. QSL via their home
callsigns, direct or by the bureau.

EU-171. Operators Ela/DL1TM and Tor/DJ4MG will be active as
OZ/homecall from Island of Vendsyssel-Thy, Nordjylland
Island, Denmark, April 10-26th. Activity will be on
160/80/40/20/17/15 meters and VHF 2m SSB. Their favored
operating time and frequencies a During the Central
Europe's daytimes on 40m and 20m on SSB, but 20m mostly
somewhere around 14260 kHz. QSL via home callsign (QRZ.com
addresses).

NA-031. Page, WA3EOP, will be active as WA3EOP/p from Conanicut
Island (USI RI-007S, Newport County, Rhode Island) and the
Beavertail Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-048), July 18th. Activity
will take place during the afternoon and evening. Another
operator will join her at 1900z; Al, KZ3AB. Suggested
frequencies a 14266, 14332, 7178 and 3902 kHz. Look for
activity before and during the Century Club nets on 75/40
meters. The QSL will picture the Lighthouse.

OC-078. Keisuke, JK1QLR, will be active as V63LR from Ulithi Atoll,
Micronesia, April 20-23rd. Activity will be limited (holiday
style), but he will be on the HF bands, CW, SSB, RTTY and
PSK31. QSL via JK1QLR.

SA-049. You still may have some time to work members of the Radio
Club Ushuaia that are now active as AY7X from Redonda Island
(SA-049, WW Loc. FD55UE) until 1200z April 2nd. The Isla
Redonda qualifies for "GACW Five Argentine Islands" award
with #ARXP6. Operations will be on CW, SSB,PSK and RTTY on
the following suggested frequencies:
CW - 3530, 7030, 14040, 21040 and 28040 kHz
SSB - 3670-3765, 7045, 14260, 21260 and 28560 kHz
PSK - 3620, 7040, 14070, 21070 and 28110 kHz

Don/WC4D will be active as J3A during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (October
27-28th), as a Multi-Multi entry. QSL via WA1S.

J5, GUINEA-BISSAU. Tibi, HA7TM, will once again be active from here as
J5UTM between April 14-21st. He will be using an IC-706 and and DunaX
GPS for 40-10 meters, and dipoles for the lower bands. Activity will
possibly be on CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. He will be using an amplifier

KH8S, SWAINS ISLAND DXPEDITION (Update). It was reported last week that
the N8S DXpedition to Swains Islands will be leaving a day earlier than
announced which mean the team should be active on April 3rd. The
current team consists of 17 operators: Hrane/YT1AD (Team Leader),
David/K3LP (Co-Leader), Krassimir/K1LZ, Alan/K6SRZ, Doug/N6TQS,
Chuck/JT1CO, Harry/RA3AUU, Eugene/RK3AD, Viktor/RU4SU, Vangelis/SV2BFN,
Alekcej/UA4HOX, Roman/UR0MC, Milovan/YU1AU, Mladen/YU7NU, Vel/YZ1BX,
Stevan/YZ7AA and Mome/Z32ZM. Current suggested frequencies a

As announced in last week's bulletin, the team will also operate on
60 meters (on 5403.5 kHz), 2m EME and 6 EME with WSJT65 A,B,C (on
frequencies 50.375 MHz and 144.375 MHz). He also announced that the
following pilot stations for the operation a Toma/YU1AB for Western
Europe, Lee/KH6BZF for the Americas and the Pacific, and Antic/YU1AA
for the YU and Eastern Europe areas. For updates and more details,

PACIFIC TOUR. Ulli, DL2AH, announced his next DXpeditions will take
place in the Pacific between the end of September and mid-November.
Using only a FT897 and a loop antenna for 40-10 meters, look for him
to be active on SSB and RTTY from the following locations:
ZK2 - Island of Niue; between September 29th and October 12th
ZL7 - Chatham Island; as ZL7/DL2AH, between October 17-30th
VK9N - Norfork Island; two weeks
QSL via home callsign DL2AH or by the German Bureau or direct (SAE +
IRC/2007). More info will be forthcoming later.

QSL INFO AND NEWS............................
Reports of 3C0M QSLs are now being received. Activity took place in
October 2006.

Reports indicate that the VU7RG and VU7MY QSL cards have not arrived
from the printer. However, pre-process labeling is being done so they
can send them out once the cards do arrive.

SPECIAL EVENT. Look for special event station YU07HST to be active now
through the end of this year. QSL via YU1FJK. Activity is to celebrate
the upcoming 7th World High Speed Telegraphy (HST) Championship which
will be held September 19-23rd, in Belgrade, Serbia. For details, visit

SPECIAL EVENT (Update). To commemorate the 95th anniversary of the
sinking of the Titanic, ham radio operators worldwide will participate
in a special event taking place between April 14-15th. Look for members
of the City of Belfast Radio Amateurs Society (COBRAS - GI2BX) to
activate GB2MGY for this event from the Blackhead Lighthouse in
Northern Ireland. The COBRAS are ISWL affiliated, so this callsign will
count for the "Monitor Award". The QSL info is still to be announced,
so keep your eye on QRZ.com for the latest information. ADDED NOTE:
Remember to look for "W0S" to be activated by the members of the Nixa
Amateur Radio Club from the TITANIC Museum Attraction (in Branson,
Missouri). See OPDX.802 for details.

SPECIAL EVENT. Look for special event station OL75CAV to be active on
April 22nd, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of
CAV - Ceskomoravsti Amateri Vysilaci (Czech-Moravian Transmitting
Amateurs). Activity will be on all bands on CW and SSB, also with time
permitting on RTTY and PSK. All QSOs will be confirmed with a special

T7, SAN MARINO. There has been a report that Tony, T77C, came up on
5371.5 kHz and gave out a new 60 meter country QSO. Tony had a severe
QRN problem and had trouble hearing stateside. Hopefully the QRN won't
be as bad the next time he shows up. QSL via direct only!

TZ, MALI. Just a reminder that operators Eric/ON4LN (TZ2T), Ivo/ON5CD
(TZ1T), Stefaan/ON4FG (TZ4T) and Bart/ON3VK (TBA) will be active from
Bamako, Mali, April 2-7th. The group plans to activate some prefixes
that were never issued before. Activity will be on 160-10 meters on
SSB, CW and Digital modes (RTTY, BPSK31, etc.) with at least 2 stations
on the air simultaneously. Bands and mode will largely depend on the
propagation. The aim is to activate the low and WARC bands, CW and
digital modes as often as possible. QSL direct to ON4LN for all
callsigns, or via bureau to their home callsigns. More information is

V3, BELIZE. Glen, W5IF, is currently active as V31IF until April 4th.
Activity will be on all bands 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. He was
heard this past weekend on 40/20/17 meters after 1700z. QSL via W5IF

V6, MICRONESIA (Update/IOTA Op). By the time you read this, operators
Nando/IT9YRE, Claudio/I1SNW and Mike/K9AJ should be active from Ngulu
Atoll (OC-180) as V63RE, V63WN and V63J respectively. This is the first
part of their IOTA Micronesia tour between April 2-19th. They plan to
be at OC-180 just under two days before moving onto Sorol Atoll
(OC-277) and then Woleai Atoll (OC-132). Activity will be on CW and

VK, AUSTRALIA. David, VK2CZ, will be active as VK8AA during the CQ
World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as Single-Op/Single-Band

W8AH WEB TRIBUTE. Al Hix, W8AH, was known around the world by thousands
of amateur radio operators for his pursuits in the DX. He became a
"Silent Key" at 85, on June 25th, 2003, at home after a short illness.

WAB ACTIVITY........
John, M0JDK, is expected to be active mobiling on a canal boat from
Warwickshire up to Liverpool and Manchester now until April 15th.
This is primarily a holiday for him, but he will be on 80/60/40/2
meters. Activity is good for the "Worked All Britain Award" (WAB).

Tom, G0JRT, will be mobiling around in Scotland between now and 0900z
April 6th (possibly the 7th). Activity will be on 3760 kHz possibly
or 7060 kHz depending on conditions. QSL via info on QRZ.com.

WP3, PUERTO RICO. Alfredo, WP3C, will be active in the CQ WW WPX
Contest (May 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. His
activity will also count for the WLOTA as LH-2802. QSL via W3HNK,
direct preferred but Bureau is OK.

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS (NA-016). Operators John/K6AM, Joe/W5ASP and Dale/
KG5U will be signing ZF1A from Grand Cayman Island (WLOTA LH-1042)
during the CQ WW WPX CW Contest (May 26-27th) as a Multi-Single entry.
QSL via W5ASP, direct or by the bureau or LoTW.

ZS, SOUTH AFRICA (Talk to The Hell!). A team of ten operators from the
Boland Amateur Radio Club will be visiting "The Hell", also known as
Gamkaskloof or Gamka's Valley, situated in the Swartberg Mountains of
the Southern Cape in the area between 33.28 S 21.15 E [KF06nr] and
33.33 S 21.42 E [KF06rq]. They will be using a special callsign,
ZS1HELL. The team consist of Rassie/ZS1YT, Karl/ZS1KC, Bennie/ZR1JHD,
Graham/ZS1GVB, Conradt/ZR1CE, Derrek/ZS1DUP, Douglas/ZS1GUD, Johan/
ZS1GP, Mac/ZS1XX and Olivier/ZS1OLI. The special station, with the
callsign ZS1HELL, will be active from Friday, April 27th until Monday,
April 30th. The station will be active on 160, 80, 40 and 20 meters.
Although the station will be active on some DX frequencies, their main
aim will be to achieve a Worked All ZS Award and a Top Band
certificate. The electronic QSL system on the SARL Web page will be
