3D2, FIJI. Tomas, LY1DF, will be active as 3D2F between August 28th and
September 4th. Activity will be on 80-17 meters, mostly CW. This will
include an entry in the All Asia DX SSB Contest (September 1-2nd). His

3G100, CHILE (Special Event). Claudio, CE1VIL, will be active using the
special Chilean callsign 3G100S between now and August 1st. Activity is
to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Scouting movement. QSL via

4O, MONTENEGRO. Look for David, OK1FJD (OK6DJ), to be active as 4O6DJ
on a small expedition between July 7-14th. Activity will be on HF
including the WARC bands and 6 meters. His rig will be a FT857 into
a vertical and dipoles. QSL via OK6DJ.

8N, JAPAN. Kazunori "Icko", JA1BPA, reports that for the 2007 IARU HF
Championship, the JARL will establish 5 HQ stations in various regions
of Japan (IOTA AS-007). Each station may be heard on other bands than
specified below outside the Contest during the week of July 9th. All
QSOs will be QSLed automatically via the bureau. Look for the following
stations on the various bands and modes and loctions:

8Q, MALDIVES. Operator Al, JA9APS, will be active as 8Q7NK between July
6-9th. This is a family vacation. Al hopes to operate on 40-6 meters,
SSB, CW and RTTY, using a TS-570S and R8 vertical. QSL via his home

B1, CHINA. Jacques, F6HMJ, will be one of the team members for station
B1HQ for the IARU HF World Championships Contest (July 14-15th). He is
expected to be on 20 meters CW. Outside the contest he will be signing
BY1TX/F6HMJ during his free time.

CN, MOROCCO. Claude, F5OGE, will be traveling throughout Morocco
between July 13-29th and is expected to be active as CN2GE or CN2GE/m.
His trip begins in Tangiers, and after he will go through Rabbat,
Marakech, Benni Mellal, Fes, Tetouane and then back to Tangiers again.
Activity will be mainly on 40 and 20 meters CW/SSB. Look for him
during his early morning and late evenings hours (Morrocan time). While
traveling mobile during the daytime, Claude will sometimes sign as
CN2GE/m. ADDED NOTE: While on his way to Morocco (July 10-11th), and
when traveling back home (July 29-30th), look for Claude to sign as
F5OGE/m and EA/F5OGE/m. QSL via F5OGE, either direct or by the bureau.

EA8, CANARY ISLANDS. Hans, ON6ZK, will be on a holiday operation from
the Island of Tenerife (AF-004) between August 15-22nd. He states that
he will operate from his hotel room with a FT897 with 25 watts only,
mainly on 20 and 17 meters SSB. The antenna is a telescopic antenna
(only about 1.5 meters in length). Look for him to sign EA8/ON6ZK from
Arecas Tenerife. He will also try to activate the Teide mountain,
probably on August 18th on 20 meters SSB. QSL via the bureau to ON6ZK.

HP2, PANAMA (IOTA Op Extended). Members of the Uruguay DX Group who are
currently active from Wichubwala Island in the San Blas Province Group
(NA-170) have extended their operation until July 6th. Operators a
Mario/CX4CR, Bert/CX3AN and Gus/CX2AM. Look for them to sign
HP2/homecall. Activity will be on 80-6 meters CW, SSB and the digital

GB7, ENGLAND. Members of the RSGB will activate a special callsign for
the upcoming IARU HF Championship. Look for the special callsign GB7HQ
to be active between 1200z, July 14th and 1200z, July 15th, on 160-10
meters CW and SSB (contest bands). A list of the operators and host

IOTA NEWS...................................
AF-004. Operator Andrew, G7COD, will be active as EA8/G7COD/A from
Playa Del Cura on the Island of Gran Canaria (S-005 for the
Spanish Islands Award, WLOTA LH-0969), between now and July
7th. Times of operation will be every day between 1130-1330z
and 1600-1815z. Suggested frequencies to be used are as
follows +/- 10 kHz to allow for QRM: 14233, 18133, 21253 and
24953 kHz SSB. He may use CW dependent upon propagation. QSL
via G0OYH, by the bureau or direct.

AF-019. Giuseppe "Joe", IT9RBW, will be active as IT9RBW/IG9 from
Lampedusa Island (IIA AG-001) during the CQ World Wide DX
SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band
10m entry.

AS-120. The Nicosia Amateur Radio Club (5B4NC) is planning to
activate one of Cyprus Coastal Islands (possibly Agios
Georgios) between July 27-29th. Callsign, QSL info and other
details will be announced at a later date.

AS-193. Mohamad HZ1MD, was active from Frasan Island for four days
this past week/weekend. QSL via PA2V.

EU-028. Simone, IZ4DYQ, will be active as IA5/IZ4DYQ from Elba
Island (IIA LI-001, MIA MI-022, WLOTA LH-0609), July 2-13th.
Activity will be mainly SSB on 20 and 40 meters. QSL via his
home callsign, bureau is preferred.

EU-052. Andy, HA0IM, will be active as SV8/HA0IM and also J48IM from
Zakynthos (Zante) Island, July 18-30th. Activity will be on
80-6 meters mainly on CW, but some PSK31 and RTTY are
expected as well. He will use only 100 watts with monoband
verticals on fishing poles. Andy will use the callsign J48IM
during the CQWW VHF Contest (July 20-21st) on 6 meters only,
and in the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 28-29th) as a Single-Op/
Low-Power/24-HR/CW only/DXpedition entry. QSL via his home

EU-086. Vasiliy, RW4NW, will be active as UE1RFF/1 from Dolgiy
Island (RRA RR-03-07) and Bol'shoy Zelenets Island between
July 2-21st. QSL via UA1RJ.

EU-123. Members from the Sheffield Amateur Radio Club will be active
as GS3RCM from the Isle of Arran between July 26th and
August 2nd. They will also participate in the IOTA Contest
as MM3M. It is also possible that they may try to operate
again from the Island of Pladda on the Friday morning
between 0830-1300z. Depending on the weather and tides,
they may stay later. Activity will be on HF/6m/4m/2m and

EU-124. Glyn, GW0ANA, will be leading a small team of operators from
the Barry Amateur Radio Society (BARS) and 3 guest operators
(DJ8NK, DJ6OI and G3RWL) to Flatholm Island for the RSGB IOTA
Contest (July 28-29th). Look for activity before and after
the contest using the callsign GB5FI. During the contest they
will sign GW8K. QSL via GW0ANA.

EU-144. Oreste, IZ8EDJ, and possibly several other operators from
the Strange Radio Team (SRT) will participate in the IOTA
Contest (July 28-29th) as IC8DI from Dino Island (IIA
CS-002). QSL via IK8WEJ.

EU-174. Laci, HA0NAR, will be active as SV8/HA0NAR and also J48NAR
from Thassos Island, July 24-31st. Activity will be on 80-6
meters, SSB, CW, (maybe on 6m FM) with only 100 watts into
monoband verticals on fishing and Spider poles. Look for
J48NAR to be used during the RSGB IOTA Contest. QSL via

EU-179. Operators Sam/UT9FJ, Alex/UR5FEL and Petro/UR5FCZ will be
active on Berezan Island (UIA BS-02, ARLHS UKR-035) between
July 25-30th. Look for them to sign homecall/P. They will
also be active in the RSGB IOTA Contest. QSL via their home
callsign.

EU-185. Victor, UA6AF, will be active as homecall/p from Sudzhuk
Island (RRA RR-24-02), located in RDA District KR-07
(Centralny, Novorossisk District), Krasnodarsky Kraj (KR),
July 27-30th. Activity will be on all bands 80-10 meters,
with an emphasis on the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 28-29th).

OC-150. Adhi, YB3MM, will be active as YB3MM/9 from Lombok Island
(WLOTA LH-2637) during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 28-29th).
Activity will only be on 15 meters CW/SSB. QSL via IZ8CCW,

ISWL ACTIVITIES. Pete Rayer, ISWL Life Vice President, reports the

Cheshire, England (WAB Square = SJ37 CHS).
MX1SWL/A - Herbie, G6XOU, will operate from Walton on the Naze,

also operated MX1SWL/P from other locations during the

J8, ST. VINCENT. Jim, W6JKV, will be active as J8/W6JKV until July
11th. Activity will only be on 6 meters.

KP1, NAVASSA ISLAND. As of this month, Navassa Island (the 5th "Most
Wanted Country" according to "The DX Magazine" 2006 survey) became an
American possession only 150 years ago. There is an interesting article

MD0, ISLE OF MAN (EU-116). Lars, DF1LON, will be active as MD0LON

(ARLHS CYP001) as P3CA, July 7-8th. Activity will be on HF, 6m, 2m,
CW, SSB, FM and APRS on 144.800 MHz. The team will take part in the

5A7A QSL STATUS. Andy, DJ7IK, informs OPDX that Andi, DL9USA, their
QSL manager for 5A7A has sent out more than 6800 cards directly and
approx. 30,000 cards via the bureau. All 5A7A QSOs are now confirmed
just only a half year after the DXpedition. Andy states, "If you

ADDRESS CHANGE FOR HS0ZCW. Charles, K4VUD/HS0ZCW, reports, "My dream
of having a simple Thailand address, Box 1, etc, was dashed by
extensive postal mail theft by the Nakhon Chaisi government postal
workers. They first stole the "green stamps" from the incoming QSL
card envelopes, and after my first complaint, began stealing the
whole envelope and all contents and destroying everything. This began
about June 5, 2007. Thus I have a new QSLing address: Charles
Harpole, 86/1 Moo 4, Tambon Bankok, Amper Meung, Samut Sakhon 74000,
THAILAND. This is good for HS0ZCW, 9N7UD, A52UD, VU4AN/VU3CHE, and
K4VUD, AC4TT, and the old call of KG4FPK. I have changed QRZ.com.
Please pass the message that mail sent to me to arrive about June 5
and after will not be delivered. I filed a complaint with the Nakhon
Chaisi government Police. This situation is not likely to change,
however, there are also stories of stolen mail sent to Buddhist
temples as donations.... how low can u go? By the way it is said
to be against Thai law for non-approved Thai citizens to have foreign

SX5, DODECANESE (Special Event). A group of Rhodian Radio Amateurs will
activate the special callsign SX5RHO between now and July 7th. Activity
is to celebrate "2007 Island Games" on the Island of Rhodes (see the
Web site - http://www.rhodes2007.info ). Rhodes Island (EU-001) is very
proud to host the "2007 Island Games", which will have the largest
participation of island countries and athletes in the history of the
institution. Activity of the special callsign will take place daily on
all bands (HF160-10m, 6m, 2m) and on all modes (SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31,
possibly some SSTV and JT65). Anyone who contacts SX5RHO does not
need to send them a QSL card. All contacts will be automatically
confirmed via the bureau, and after the end of operations the logs will
be uploaded into the LoTW.

UA4WHX IS NOW QRT FROM AFRICA. World traveller and DXpeditioner
Vladimir Bykov, UA4WHX, has ended his African activities. An E-mail
that Vlad sent to OPDX states the following (edited): "Hello everyone!
You must have been wondering if it is true. And the answer is - it is.
It is all history now. For now - no more being on the air from Africa
(or P5 -which I never did). We leave almost 310,000 QSOs behind, 21
DXCC entities, almost 26 months of life, two radios gone and one finger
missing. But we do have lots of people happy - that is what matters.
Below I will list some of the instructions how I see QSLing done best:
1. I accept bureau via Russia Cental Club. I will also accept bureau
shipment sent directly from societies or organizations to my P.O.
Box 2040, Izhevsk, 426000, Russia (that may be a better idea). To
keep track and make certain nothing is missing when a big batch
is on the way, advise me, we will track and make sure it has been
received.

2. I do recommend sending requests with a SASE directly rather than
going via the bureau. We arrange cards by senders, and all cards
are answered by senders as well, direct/bureau put together. If
there is enough postage the bureau will join the direct requests.
The address to be used is: Vladimir M. Bykov. P.O. Box 2040,
Izhevsk, 426000, Russia. No cards to be sent to AC4LN address.

3. I do insist we use IRCs and not send cash in envelopes, no matter
what amount. Not that my post office is not safe, but we must be
conscious to limit temptation. Use common sense when sending
IRCs, as per how many. Do not ask me - my answer will always be -
at least one, as I can technically send 7 pieces of QSLs with one
IRC.

4. For Clubs or more serious individuals, I can accept money elec-
tronically, provided you feel you can let me charge your Visa or
Master Card. Any amount is fine. I will keep records of the
transaction together with your QSL requests. The transaction is
100% secure and will be done electronically through Svezhy Veter
Travel Agency.

5. Those who have made multiple QSOs, they can send QSOs listed on a
piece of paper with at least one card attached to be personal.

6. All QSOs are on paper and not computer files.

7. I will have a few people to help me with the QSLing. Anyone is
welcome to join the QSL team provided he/she is ready to do it
from Izhevsk. I will let everyone know when the first cards are
out.

V3, BELIZE. Dennis, K7BV, will operate from Caye Caulker off the Belize
coast between July 7-17th. The focus of the trip is 6 meters, but there
will be plenty of HF activity when 6 meters is not open. A full-time 6
meter station with power and a 7 element beam will CQ in breakable
beacon mode 24/7 on 50.106 MHz. A second rig will be used on HF for 6
meter opening coordination and HF pileup fun. His callsign is not yet

VP6/D, DUCIE ISLAND (Update). Carsten, DL6LAU, Teamleader, reports that
the team has been very busy "behind the scene" for the last weeks and
some things have changed or happened. To summarize, the team has agreed
to extend the duration of the DXpedition (making them grab even deeper
into their pockets). The team will depart from Gambier Island onboard
Braveheart on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008, around 1500 local time. If
there are normal weather conditions, the voyage to Pitcairn will take
about 36 hours. They'll spend some hours on Pitcairn before they make
another 36 hours trip to Ducie. They hope to arrive at Ducie at dawn on
the 9th of February. If the weather is good, they hope to have all the
equipment up and running in 24 hours. The plan is to be on the air for
19 days (until February 28th). Operators Pertti/OH2PM and Krassy/K1LZ
can not make it this trip, but they have added some more operators
since the announcement in Dayton. Operators as of today includes:

has decided to have seven stations up and running (all Elecraft K3
transceivers with ACOM amps). For 160m, they will have two phased
verticals pointing towards Europe (and the U.S.), they will use one
vertical for the other areas. On 80m, they will have two 4-Squares
antennas. On 40/30m, they will also have 4-Squares, while 20-10m will
have phased vertical dipoles. The team is still in need for donations
since the budget for this operation is well over 200,000 USDs. For more

August 19-21st. Activity will be mainly on CW (no bands of activity

YA, AFGHANISTAN. Dejan, 9A4ZD, has been active as YA/9A4ZD over the
past weekend on 20 meters SSB. Watch around 14300 kHz (+/- 10 kHz)
at various times. He was also spotted on 18130 kHz after 1130z. QSL
via his home callsign.

ZA/Z35M QRT. Vlado, ZA/Z35M, informs OPDX: "After 5 years of activity
from Albania as ZA/Z35M today (27th June 2007) I finished my operation
with exactly 113,000 QSOs made. My 1st QSO was on 3rd June 2002 with
SK0TM on 14 MHz CW, and the last QSO was on 27th June 2007 with F2FP
on 14 MHz CW. My station was in the apartment in the center of Tirana,
using 100w and only one antenna: G5RV 30 above the ground. All contacts
are on HF, CW and SSB (exept 300 QSOs on 6M).
During the period of 16-20th June 2007, I was QRV portable from the
small place Ksamil (JM99XS) on the south-west corner of Albania, close
to the border with Greece. A total of 1150 QSOs were made on 20m CW and
SSB using 100W and Inverted Vee dipole 9 m above the ground mounted on
the balcony of the hotel.
1994 was my first radio activity from Albania, then working only
for a few days as ZA/Z32KV. I was host operator at ZA1B, ZA1MH, ZA1AJ
in 1994-95; ZA1A, ZA1UT, ZA/K7ZV in 2003; ZA/HA5NLI in 2004, ZA/SP5AEQ
