The Joint Canada and USA Amateur Radio Emergency Communications
Preparedness Event is being conducted this weekend, Saturday, September
29 and Sunday, September 30, 2007. Simulated emergency traffic will be
passed to and from the special event station at Signal Hill, St. John's,
Newfoundland, with ARES stations in Canada and the United States taking
part. Special event call sign VO1ARES will be used by the Signal Hill
station and any Radio Amateur wishing to make contact is encouraged to
do so before or after the formal demonstration of emergency traffic
