A3 - TONGA, OC-049
Nob,A35AU (JA2AAU), Yoshi,A35IC (JA2AIC), Iwao,A35SS (JA2LSS),
Iku,A35TE (JA2ATE), and Mori,A35ZS (JA2ZS), plan to activate the island
Nuku'alofa (OC-049) in all modes on all bands from Sep 12-17.
QSLs direct or via JARL bureau to their homecalls.

D2 - ANGOLA
After a break of five years Father Gabriele,D2EB, returned to Angola.
He works in SSB and CW on all bands including 6m.
QSLs via LoTW or direct via his QSL manager is IZ3ETU.

E5 - SOUTH COOK ISLANDS, OC-013
Bill Vanderheide,N7OU, informs the DX community that he intends to
become QRV as E51NOU from Rarotonga (OC-013) from Sep 15 until Oct 11.
Bill works only in CW on 40-10m and is going to listen for Europe
during the greyline. QSL via N7OU.

EA8 - CANARY ISLANDS, AF-004
EA8/DL5NUA, EA8/DL3HQN and EA8/DL1ARD are working mainly in CW from
Puerto de la Cruz on Teneriffa (AF-004) from Sep 7-19. They are using
an IC-706 and a vertical also on the WARC bands.

FG - GUADELOUPE, NA-102
FG/F6EPO is staying on Guadeloupe (NA-102) for 20 days starting on
Sep 7. He will work from the volcano Soufriere from Sep 13-20. He is
working with QRP and a vertical and can be found on following QRGs
during the afternoon: 7007, 10111, 14014 and 21021 kHz.

JW - SVALBARD, EU-026
Tom,LA4LN, will show up from Spitsbergen (EU-026, WLOTA LH 0124)
signing JW4LN on 160m-70cm mostly in CW but also in SSB, digital modes
and via satellite from Sep 12-18. On 60m he is using the call JW1V.
QSLs unfortunately only direct via LA4LN.

TA - TURKEY
The Finnish-Turkish "Friendship Consortium Station" TC4X will be
QRV again during the WAEDC SSB Contest on Sep 13/14. QSL via OH2BH.

TY - BENIN
Sam,F6AML, will be QRV from Cotonou from Sep 12-24. Sam is working
on following frequencies:
CW on 3525, 7025, 10115, 14025, 18071, 21025, 24892, 28025 kHz and
SSB on 3785, 7057, 14235, 18140, 21275, 24944 and 28444 kHz.
RIG: FT-857D, 800 watts amplifier, HF6V and Inverted V antenna for 80m.
QSL via bureau or direct to F6AML (or QRZ.com).

4U1VIC - UNITED NATIONS, VIENNA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
OE1AWB, OE3BLB, OE1RKS, OE1DWC, OE3SGU and OE3GCU are going to activate
4U1VIC at the "Vienna International Centre Amateur Radio Club" during
the upcoming WAEDC Contest in SSB on Sep 13/14. 4U1VIC is listed on the
WAE Countries list and is a separate multiplier.
QSL cards should be sent via the OE bureau or direct to Amateur Radio
Club Vienna International Centre, PO Box 500, 1400 Vienna, Austria.

FRANCE, SPECIAL EVENT STATION
The radio club of Tulle,F5KTU, will activate the special callsign TM2NN
on HF and VHF during the accordion festival from Sep 15-28.
QSL cards should be sent via the REF bureau.

ARCTICA
The "Akademik Fedorov" anchored off the coast of Wrangel Island from
Feb 27-29 and lots of new equipment for the meteorological station was
unloaded by helicopter. The crew did not visit the island and thus had
no chance to activate it on amateur radio. The Fedorov is looking for
a new ice floe in the Laptev Sea now because the original one became
too small. For the first time ever both northern passages are ice-free.
UE6MAC is the clubstation of the club "Arktika" and UE6MAC/mm will stay
active from onboard the "Akademik Federov".

ROUTE 66 ON THE AIR
The "Citrus Belt Amateur Radio Club" from San Bernardino/California
arranges a Highway QSO Party from Sep 13-21 celebrating the 82nd anni-
versary of the famous Route 66. Following 19 stations will be activated
along the highways from Santa Monica to Chicago:

RUSSIA and CEPT
There is a good chance that there might be guest licenses issued in
Russiaby the end of 2009. The SRR website states that it is being
checked if and when such licenses could be issued.

YOUNG DXERS on WILLIS ISLAND, VK9/W
The crew of VK9DWX invites two young hams to participate in the
DXpedition to Willis Island in October 2008. Applicants should be
between 18 and 29 years old and should send an email which must include
an essay of at least 500 words (in English) describing how you got
started in ham radio and why you should be selected for this DXpedition
opportunity. The VK9DWX crew will pay for all expenses except your
flight from your home to Cairns/Australia. Send your application to
until Sep 15.
