They will be on the air from Oct 18-31 and this trip is going to become very special. Besides of the CQWW SSB Contest they are planning a Hamfest and outings with or without radios in the very beautiful surroundings of Vaduz, Triesenberg or Malbun. They are also expecting international guests from Europe, the USA and Asiatic Russia. He will not take part in the WWDX Contest and the QSL cards should be sent to his homecall (also via bureau). JD1/MT - MINAMI TORISHIMA, OC-073 Masa,JA6GXK, is going to stay on Marcus Island (OC-073) between Oct 16 and Nov 6. Listen for JD1BMM working with 500 watts on 160-10m. Masa asks for QSLs via the JARL bureau. P2 - PAPUA NEW GUINEA G3KHZ, G4EDG, CT1AGF, K6MYC and W5GAI will activate several rare IOTA islands belonging to Papua New Guinea from Oct 18 until Nov 4: Oct 8: arrival in Rabaul/Kokopo Oct 18: passage with the MV Barbarian II Oct 20: arrival on Garove Island (Witu group, OC-181) Oct 28: arrival on the Hermit Islands (OC-041) Nov 4: arrival on Manus Island (Ninigo group, OC-025) Nov 5: return. Emphasis will be put on 160m operation. Their calls will be P29VLR (QSL via SM6CVX) on Garove, P29NI (via G3KHZ) on Hermit and the one for Manus Island will be announced later. PJ2/PJ4 - NETHERLAND ANTILLES, BONAIRE & CURACAO, SA-006 PJ4E will be the call of Kyle,WA4PGM, Roy,WK4Y, John,K6AM, Gene,K5GS, Frank,K4EJ, Harvey,K0RAY, and Kelly,N0VD, in the multi/multi class of the WWDX SSB Contest. The team will work as PJ4/homecalls before and after the contest from Bonaire (SA-006) from Oct 21-29. The OPs PJ2/WA4PGM, PJ2/WK4Y, PJ2/K4EJ and PJ2/K0RAY will show up also from Curacao (SA-006) from Oct 18-21. QSL for PJ/WA4PGM and PJ4E direct to WA4PGM, PJ4/N0VD direct via W3HNK. All other QSL routes will be announced on the air by the operators. PZ - SURINAME The OM0C Contest Crew is going to Suriname for the 2008 WWDX SSB test. Rich,OM2TW, Joe,OM5AW, Steve,OM5AA, David,OK1RK, and Vlada,OK1NY, will hit the airwaves as PZ5Z from Oct 21-30. They will work on all bands from 160m-2m (including first time EME) emphasizing the lowbands, QRP stations and little pistols. QSL via OM2FY, direct or via bureau. More information can be found online at: http://www.om0c.com/suriname SV9 - CRETE ISLAND, EU-015 Ulf,SV9/DL5AXX, is spending his holidays with his daughters on the island of Crete (EU-015) from Oct 15-21. He will work as J49V with low power and vertical in the WAG Contest. T33 - BANABA ISLAND / T31 - CENTRAL KIRIBATI Toshi,JA8BMK, hit the airwaves as T33ZZ from Banaba (OC-018) on Oct 12 and plans to stay there until Oct 23. His travelling schedule and call for Central Kiribati have changed a bit (see also DXNL 1591). He will go to Canton Island (OC-043) signing T31DX from Nov 20-30. Operation takes place in SSB, CW, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV on 160-6m with emphasis on the lowbands and WARC bands using a FT-897D, yagis and verticals. QSLs unfortunately only direct to JA8BMK. T6 - AFGHANISTAN Frank,T6/PA2MRX, will be QRV with QRP power working in PSK31, RTTY or CW mostly on 20m between Oct 17 and Nov 2. Listen for Frank during his evenings from 1900-2200 local time or at the weekends. QSL via PA2MRX. QSL cards via their homecalls, also via bureau. VK9/W - WILLIS ISLAND, OC-007 Ben,DL6FBL, is not member of the VK9DWX team as wrongly written in the last DXNL. They have also a V160E antenna for a good 160m signal. The radio documentary archive accompanies the DXpedition to Willis VK9DWX with a special website. VU4 - ANDAMAN ISLANDS / VU7 - LACCADIVE ISLANDS The "National Institute of Amateur Radio" NIAR (http://www.NIAR.org) celebrates its 25th anniversary and activates the Andaman and Laccadive Islands with four teams from Oct 23 until Nov 3. Once again several guests from abroad were invited and they also have a special permission for 30m operation. --- VU4RG: QTH is Port Blair the capital of the Andaman and Nikobar Islands (AS-001, WLOTA: L-0562) and the operators are Norbert,DJ7JC/VU3NLF, and Helmut,DL5DSM/VU3NLG. They will work in CW/SSB/BPSK/RTTY using a FT857, KL500/FL7000, Elecraft K3+FL7000 with a G5RV for 160m/80m, a 30m GP, a 40m Phased Array (2GPs), Spiderbeam for 20m-10m, 15m GP by DX-Wire. They will work as VU4RG also during the CQWW weekend. QSL manager for VU4RG is DJ7JC, Norbert Meyer, Huenninghausenweg 33,45276 Essen,Germany --- VU4MY is the call of an Indian team with seven OPs including the YLs Yamini,VU2YAM, and Bhanumathy,VU2BL. Their QTH will be also Port Blair. QSL cards should be sent via DJ7JC. --- VU7SJ: The QTH is Agatti Island (AS-011) and the four operators are Franz,DL9GFB, Jan,DJ8NK, Juergen,DF7TT, and Jos,VU2JOS. QSLs via ON4LAC. 3DA0 - SWAZILAND David,GI4FUM (EI4DJ), is going to sign 3DA0DJ in SSB on all bands from Oct 17-27. He will be accompanied by Daniel,ZS6JR (3DA0EI). Daniel will sign 3DA0JOTA during the upcoming Jamboree On The Air (Oct 18/19). 5U - NIGER Chris,5U5U, promised to be very active in SSB until he goes QRT on Nov 9. His next job will begin in the Central African Republic in January 2009. QSL via Christian Saint-Arroman, Chemin de Mousteguy, F-64990 Urcuit, France. 6W - SENEGAL The operators DK8YY, DL4JS, DL8ALU, DL8AKI and DL1WA will sign 6W/DL4JS in SSB, CW and RTTY on all HF bands from Oct 18-27. They will use the special call 6V7M during the WAG and WWDX Contests. QSLs via DH7WW. 9L - SIERRA LEONE I1HJT, I2YSB, IK1AOD, IK2CIO, IK2CKR, IK2DIA and IK2HKT are very active with three stations signing 9L1X from Sherbro Island (AF-056) since Oct 10 and until the 23rd of Oct. They were expected to become QRV in the beginning of 2009 but the DXpedition was moved up on short notice. QSL cards only direct via I2YSB. Following frequencies are being used: SSB: 28450, 24925, 21295, 18130, 14260, 7050, 3795, 1840 kHz; CW: 28025, 24895, 21025, 18080, 14025, 10105, 7005, 3505, 1823 kHz; RTTY: 14082 kHz.
