2. From The President

I would like to thank Don MacDonald ZL3DMC for taking over the
production of Infoline. Don is also an NZART Councilor in the midland
region.

Council has been through quite a journey attempting to ‘sort
out’ our web site. All roads on this are leading to one thing:
we need a permanent webmaster who can sort out the web site. Advice has
been sought from our temporary web master and our webserver Officer:
there is no point investing financially in a new web site until a
permanent web master is appointed. There will be more on this in the
March-April edition of Break-In but specifically Council is dead keen to
appoint a person with suitable experience to this position.

Weekend courses. Last year saw a record number of examination passes: in
the eighties. This is largely due to the success of weekend courses
being run by several branches. Council will soon be promoting the
package that was originally devised by ZL2AJ and the late ZL2AL. Council
is also grateful to some key members of those branches who have made
themselves available for advice to branches wanting to run their own
courses.

Stuart Watchman

ZL2TW

NZART President

3. Debby says…

Happy new year everyone. I hope you have enjoyed a nice relaxing break
and ready to get started on promoting amateur radio in 2016? Hopefully
branches will do well again this year in holding classes and introducing
newcomers to the hobby.

Just a few wee reminders…All officers, it’s that time of
year that I need your annual reports. You should all have been contacted
by the Councillor acting as Officer Liaison, Phill Dodds ZL4XYZ, with a
reminder to please forward your reports as soon as possible.

Conference is fast approaching, so time to put your thinking caps on for
nominations for the following awards; Life Membership of the
Association, Amateur of the Year, Young Amateur of the Year, and the
ZL1HV Jumbo Godfrey Branch award. This is the perfect opportunity to
recognise people who have generously donated their time and talent for
the good of amateur radio and the Association.

Lastly for this issue, headquarters will be closed on Tuesday and
Wednesday 8th & 9th February.

Talk soon…Debby ZL2DL
