Silent Key - Raymond MI0VFO

The death occurred on the 30th June of Raymond (Ray) Blythe MI0VFO late
of Bready, Strabane Co Tyrone. His funeral took place on Sunday 3rd
July.

Ray was one of the founding members of the Foyle and District Amateur
Radio Club and remained an active member throughout his long illness
until the time of his passing.

May he rest in peace.

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group

The South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will be QRV as EI2WRC/P from the
Inistioge Vintage Rally, Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny on Sunday 31st July.

The Inistioge Vintage Rally is a great fun filled family day out with
loads of vintage cars and engines from times gone past. Loads of things
for all the kids too. So if you're looking for a great day out head on
down to Inistioge and call by the SEARG demonstration area where the
SEARG crew will be delighted to meet you.

The July meeting of SEARG will take place in the Roanmore Social and
Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford on Monday 25th July at 8pm.

New members or anyone interested in learning more about amateur radio

CQ Magazine now available to read online

It will be of interest to some Irish amateurs that the magazine "CQ
Amateur Radio" can now be read on-line courtesy of Libraries Ireland at
bit.ly/2a1nbsd

To read CQ on-line a log in ID and PIN is required which can be
obtained by simply joining your local library. The cost of the service
is totally free and offers access to a wide range of magazine for all
the family to enjoy.

Tipperary Amateur Radio Group

The next meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will be held at
The Park Hotel, Clonmel on Wednesday the 20th of July 2016 at 8.30pm.
This meeting is open to all and Short Wave Listeners are in particular
very welcome to attend. A number of radio related topics are up for
discussion along with plans for participation in the upcoming IRTS SSB
Field Day and 2 Meter Counties Contest. For more information about

EI/MI Amateur Repeater and Gateway Interactive Map

Brian EI8EJB has kindly created a very useful online map directory of
Amateur Radio Repeaters and Gateways operating in Ireland which
includes frequency and tone information. The map can be accessed via
the Dundalk Amateur Radio Society Website at ei7dar.com/ei8ejb.html

DX News

The special callsign ST0A will be operated from Khartoum, Sudan by ST2M
until the end of July. He is QRV on 40m to 10m SSB. QSL directly to
ST2M.

Tom KC0W is coming to the end of his stay in Samoa where he has been
signing 5W0COW since mid-June. The next stop on his World DXpedition is
Tuvalu where he is scheduled to arrive on 21st July. The callsign he
will use there has not yet been announced but it will have the prefix
T2. He will remain there for four weeks. QSLs go via his home call.

Paul G4PVM will be on holiday in Svalbard and will operate as JW/G4PVM
from the JW5E club station on 23rd/24th July. Logs will be uploaded to
Logbook of The World.

Pierre HB9AMO is QRV as HH2/HB9AMO on CW until 26th July. He is
operating from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. QSLs are being handled by M0URX.

later than midday on Thursday in order to be guaranteed inclusion in
the following Sunday's bulletin.
