communication at shelters housing evacuees from flooding of historic
proportions in Louisiana. The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) in

Leeuwarden Cultural Capital of Europe in 2018

Together with the capital of Malta, in September 2013 the city of
Leeuwarden was nominated as cultural capital of Europe for 2018. The
organisation “European Cultural Capital 2018” is already very busy to make
this a special year and Leeuwarden, together with the province of Friesland
will sparkle with activities.



The theme for the year will be “Connecting People” and as ham radio
operators we are especially equipped to contribute.





The Frisian ham radio clubs have embarked on this...
